I first started djing around 1994. Fascinated by turntablism I began to take my training more and more seriously. After some years I discoverd John Cage and Pierre Schaeffer who were often credited as precursors to the modern turntablist DJ and producer. At this time I figured out that the misuse of the turntable was what attracted me the most and not the whole turntablism movement. In 2004 I heard something about Digital DJing and switched more and more from turntables to a digital setup to begin developing what today is popularly known as controllerism. Controllerism is the so called art of manipulating sounds and creating music live using computer controllers and software in a very individual way - in a sense very similar to turntablism. So in 2007 I switched completely from turntables to a digital setup consisting of a program called Traktor, a Vestax VCI-100 SE Edition controller and a Korg Pad Kontrol. This is my very own setup which has also a special programming for my owm requirements which helps me to reach my full creative potential while not being limited by hardware.

Dazz and Smartronics are some of my project names for my DJ activities. As a DJ for many years I really rocked a lot of spots: Unique Club/Düsseldorf, Stereo Deluxe Club/Nürnberg, Morph Club/Bamberg and Roter Salon, Bastard, Lovelite, Kaffee Burger/Berlin. Through my long time residency at Morph Club/ Bamberg I performed on the same stage with such artists as Leeroy Thornhill (The Prodigy), Hans Nieswandt, Mr. Scruff, Jazzanova, Rainer Trüby, Fauna Flash, EZ-Rollers, Phoneheads, Vienna Scientists, Dixon, Seiji and Les Gammas. Just to name a few.
